It’s one of those places where the food feels homemade, not in a rushed or generic way, but in a comforting, familiar style that makes you feel like you're at a friend's house.

The breakfast menu at Winona’s is one of the highlights. The classic eggs and bacon breakfast is a favorite, but what really sets them apart is their bakery section. Freshly baked cinnamon rolls, scones, and muffins fill the air with a tempting aroma as soon as you walk through the door. The cinnamon rolls, in particular, are a crowd favorite, with a soft, gooey interior and a perfect balance of sweetness. Pair them with a steaming cup of coffee, and you’ve got a breakfast experience that’s hard to beat.

For lunch, Winona’s doesn’t disappoint either. The sandwiches, such as the turkey club or the veggie wrap, are generously portioned and packed with fresh ingredients. If you're in the mood for something a little heartier, the soup and salad combo is an excellent choice. The homemade soups are comforting, with options like creamy tomato basil and savory chicken noodle. It’s not just the food that makes Winona’s stand out, though. The service is always friendly and efficient, making you feel like a regular even if it’s your first visit. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable and satisfied with your meal. There’s something to be said for that personal touch, and it’s a big part of why so many people return to this local gem time and time again.

What makes Winona's truly unique is its dedication to using fresh, local ingredients whenever possible. Many dishes are made with produce sourced from nearby farms, giving the food a distinctive and natural flavor. This attention to quality ingredients shines through in each bite, whether you're indulging in a sweet pastry or savoring a savory sandwich. It’s clear that the team behind Winona’s takes pride in their work, and it’s something that keeps customers coming back.

Another standout feature of Winona’s is the bakery itself. If you’re in the mood for something to take home, there’s a wide selection of treats to choose from. The freshly baked bread, cookies, and cakes are all made in-house, ensuring that every item is as fresh as it gets. Whether you want a loaf of sourdough to go with dinner or a slice of cake for dessert, there’s always something sweet to pick up before you leave.

Whether you’re sitting at a table for two or enjoying a meal with a group, the space is welcoming and designed to make you feel right at home. It’s the kind of place where you can sip your coffee, chat with friends, or even bring a good book to read.

Overall, Winona's Restaurant And Bakery is a must-visit destination in Steamboat Springs. • Seriously Though!! This place was dang!! And fire!! I like to try new things (occasionally) so with my bacon Benny, I asked for the green chili cheese grits. Zero regrets. As I’m reviewing, I’m craving just a few more bites to give me that little kick of spice with some kind of flavors that sets my mouth watering! Top that grit with the hollandaise sauce and it’s a perfect balance of flavors and feels. Dive now into the cinnamon roll that literally melted on my tongue while delectable frosting oozed into every crevasse! All in all, what a great way to begin my Thanksgiving holiday with my family here in beautiful Steamboat Springs.

  • Outstanding breakfast with great service. I highly recommend you try this wonderful spot soon. Both the pancakes and cinnamon french toast were delicious. I also enjoyed the side of ham and OJ. Thanks again we will be back next time we visit Steamboat.

  • What a wonderful place to have early morning breakfast. We found this as we strolled the streets on our first day here. We got a warm greeting and lucky to get a booth by the window. We decided to eat inside as weather was a little chill in the outdoor seating. Katie, our server was friendly, professional and great for food suggestions. Always a smile and key in making us comfortable. Food came out quick. I had the Carnitas Hash without the green chile. Health reasons. The dish came with hash potatoes, perfectly cooked/seasoned carnitas, two eggs staring at me and two tortillas. VERY YUM RATED! My wife had Sweet Potato Hash. It included kale, onion, seasoning with two eggs and rustic sour dough. Fabulous, is what she said. The atmosphere and decor is nice. Cozy inside. Thank you Katie! You were awesome!! Make sure you come for Breakfast. A must while in Steamboat! Jrangel DBQ, Iowa.

  • Another breakfast jem in Steamboat. My shrimp and grits were so tasty. The pork carnitas were also a hit. Big portions. Proper diner. Small space. Get there early. Only hiccup was that the chair i was sitting on had a nail sticking up and ripped my pants. Service was basic but fast.

  • Had this place on our family itinerary when in town and we almost skipped it but so happy we stopped. I had the carnitas hash and it was perfection. The potatoes were hot and crisp along with the carnitas they also had a perfect crisp to them and were not dry. The tortillas were soft but toasted. I also had the green chili cheese grits were a dragon I'll be chasing, they were soo good. Even my husband who hates grits said they were great. The pancakes were super fluffy and cooked perfectly. The chicken and waffles was also delicious; crisp fluffy waffle and crispy juicy chicken. We got a cinnamon roll to go and had it after a long hike which was a nice treat. They are huge and liked the sunflower seeds mixed in. Totally worth the stop if you are in town!
